I-500
what to say about the I-500, i rode hard and walked away with 6 stitches, a ripped track, a bent sled, and a tetanus shot. this was my longest cross country race, didn't really know what to expect i had alot of people telling me a lot of different things. i rode really safe the first day and paid for it i ended up 9th or something, the 2nd day i was pretty pissed, i was ready to throw it away haha. down from the leader (dj ekre) 7 something minutes i didn't see how it was possible to gain it back. needless to say i went out the 2nd day with vengeance i rode hard and hung it out a lot of times. leaving the last fuel stop i had 6 minutes on second place, about 7 miles from the finish something broke in my pipe and i thought and seemed like i was on one cylinder so i was only going 15-20 mph in a smooth ditch that everyone else was going over 100mph. i crossed the finish line only 3 minutes ahead of 2nd so i lost about 3 minutes or so. so with both times added up i was in 3rd place 16 secs behind 2nd and 22 secs behind 1st going into the 3rd and final day. well on the 3rd day stuff looked up, a little nervous but overal good. i passed 2nd place before we got off the river about 10 miles into the race, dj ekre (1st) pulled on me a bit but i was riding pretty safe. after the river we hoped on a gravel rode with little to know snow for 8 miles! never lifted the throttle for 8 miles! unreal, well right about at the end of the rode i hurd a whaap like i broke a belt, so i ripped my side panel off and nothing keep going and keep getting worse, i could feel it in my feet so i thought chian? but no keep going keep getting worse so i flipped it over and there it was, track was grenaded split in 2 places right down the middle......it was the worst feeling ive felt, i mean ive been passed on the last lap, the last corner, everything and nothing compares to when i say that track destroyed and everyone passing me. my heart dropped it sucked so bad. long story short , mine ryans simons, chad kyllo, dj ekre's tracks all went withen 5 miles of each other, still today i feel crappy bad taste in my mouth whatever you want to say it just plain out sucks, o my crash forgot about that, on the second say when i was cranking i was wide open in a full tuck down the ditch sled swapped and cartwheel side ways for ever!! it was nuts and i cut my wrist on the running board grippers, heres some pics, ill check back in soon hopefully with good news! KEEP ER PINNED
